NOISE  & it’s harmful effects.

One-third of children are sleep deprived to some extent due to noise. Parents loose about 220 hours of sleep per year due to their child`s poor sleeping habits.

The harmful effect of noise manifests itself in the form of:

  • •Psychological: Crankiness, short tempered, Children are more temperamental, physical discomfort like upset stomachs Attention Deficit Disorder, depression, mood swings, child behavior disorders.
  • •Physiological: Abnormal blood pressure, changes in natural immunity leading to greater susceptibility to colds and ill health, heart attacks, heart failures, strokes, hypertension, abnormal hormonal activity.
  • •Emotional: Sleep deprivation leading to difficulty in concentration and focus, aggression, laziness, disruptiveness
  • •Physical: Loss of energy, greater fatigue, memory lapses and mental impairment, lethargy and emotional instability resulting in greater stress, obesity, injury from accidents, fetal and childhood growth retardation, reduction in hearing sensitivity
  • Others, poor quality of life

 

Source of Noise Problem

There are a multitude of damaging noise sources, that at first appearance may not seem so bad, however at the wrong time can harm the sleeping habits of your children.

From domestic sources likes the television, heating and air conditioning units to external like police sirens, construction, vehicle horns, motor cars, buses and bikes, aircraft, and so on.
